According to the Sun-Sentinel: 11 different men were recently arrested for solicitation of prostitution along the North Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach. According to the report, there were undercover Broward sheriff's deputies working a 2-mile stretch of the highway while posing as prostitutes. By the end of their 6-hour sting operation, they had 11 different Johns in handcuffs and being charged with solicitation of prostitution. This is quite an exceptionally successful sting operation. As quoted by Gina Carter, a spokesperson for the Broward Sheriff's Office:
"The operation was designed to make it undesirable for prostitution to be conducted in Pompano Beach and minimize the negative effects that this type of criminal activity has on the residents' quality of life and business in the city."
