OSCEOLA COUNTY, FLORIDA - A news story posted on orlandosentinel.com states that a St. Cloud Preparatory Academy teacher has been arrested following his admission to St. Cloud police that he had sex with an 18-year-old St. Cloud Prep student. The 32-year-old man has been arrested and was charged with two counts of an "Authority Figure Engaging in Sexual Conduct with a Student," following his admission to police, he had sex with a St. Cloud Preparatory Academy student "twice in the last two weeks."

The teacher also admitted that he sent the student photos of himself.

Court records state that the suspect appeared in court and was denied pre-trial release. The suspect remains at the Osceola County Jail. The news report states that there are no documents that provide additional details about the case. 

The St. Cloud Police Department stated that the suspect was a dean at St. Cloud Preparatory Academy. However, the school's website showed the suspect as a teacher before removing his name and profile page from its online staff directory.

The report states that it is not clear how long the suspect has worked at the St. Cloud Preparatory Academy or if the man taught at other Osceola County schools. The news report says St. Cloud Prep's Executive Director did not immediately respond when asked if the school had a statement.

At least three school staff members in Osceola County have been arrested charged with sex crimes this year, including a former dean at Harmony Middle School who was criminally charged last May with two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation. An IT specialist for the Osceola County School District was arrested in May and has been charged with molesting and raping a child relative. That defendant's next court date is set for October 20, 2021.
